Counselling Sunshine Coast Couples Counsellor Robert P Chambers asks 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐦𝐮𝐜𝐡 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐝𝐨 you 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 as a couple 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡𝐲 𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐠𝐞.

Before you read this, I let you know I’m not in a fantasy world I’m in the real world ok. My first question to couples seeking help now is. Is your marriage in good health? Do you have time to be married? Or in a relationship as a happy couple?

Contact Robert.

Before you were married, spending time alone with each other was your highest priority. You probably spent most of your leisure time together, and the time you spent together was probably the most enjoyable part of every week.

Every day I have couples contact me on the Sunshine Coast Queensland asking for help to fix their relationships. Sadly, not many can be helped because they don’t make their relationship and spending time together a priority.

In the beginning you tried to talk to each other every day. If you couldn’t be with each other face-to-face, you talked on the phone maybe for hours. And when you were together, you gave each other your undivided attention to have fun.

But after marriage, like so many other couples, you may find that you can be in the same room together and yet ignore each other emotionally. What’s even worse, you may find that you are not even in the same room together very often, particularly after your children arrive.

They seem to really understand many of the characteristics of a happy rewarding marriage. They have read all the tips and suggestions in books and online on how to improve their marriage.

However, when it comes down to doing the work necessary to make their marriage work, they feel incapable because of the demands of their busy schedule. I have noticed over the years in couples therapy some don’t take the time to do the tasks I suggest to save their marriage.

They’re put in the too hard basket. Sadly, to say even when they tell me they’re dead serious about saving their marriage and working on themselves. They don’t make the time or effort.

Coaching Couples Sunshine Coast

One of the more difficult aspects of marriage counselling or coaching couples Sunshine Coast is scheduling time for it. The counsellor, coach must often work evenings and weekends because most couples will not give up work for their appointments to save their relationship. Then the counsellor must schedule around a host of evening and weekend activities that take a husband and wife in opposite directions.

But finding time for an appointment seems easy compared to arranging time for the couple to be together to carry out their first assignment. Many couples think that a counsellor will solve their problem with weekly conversations in his or her office or in their home as I do, it doesn’t occur to them that it’s what they do after they leave the office that saves the marriage and relationship. To accomplish anything, they must schedule time together — time to give each other their undivided attention.

Schedule Time For Your Partner

It’s incredible how many couples have tried to talk me out of their spending more time together. They begin by trying to convince me that it’s impossible with their busy workloads. Then they go on to the argument that it’s impractical. But in the end, they usually agree that without time for undivided attention, they cannot re-create the love they once had for each other.

And that’s my point. Unless you and your partner schedule time each week for undivided attention, it will be impossible to meet each other’s most important emotional needs. So, to help you and your partner clear space in your schedule for each other, I encourage you to follow me as much as possible.
